Top 5 Cheap Places to Stay in Bristol

It’s understandable wanting to find somewhere a bit cheaper to stay for your visit to Bristol as accommodation here can be very expensive. It doesn’t mean you need to scrimp on quality or value, though, you just need to find a few hidden gems that the city has to offer. Expectations may need to be set too. Don’t expect a presidential suite with a hostel budget and don’t be afraid to try out options you wouldn’t normally, such as staying in an Airbnb. Here’s a few of our top choices for cheap places to stay in Bristol.

Mollie’s Motel

You really won’t be scrimping on style or amenities when you stay at Mollie’s Motel. Not only is it super modern with all the accommodating amenities you would expect and more, it was also designed by Soho House and has lots of free parking and even EV charging. Although it’s excellently located next to the M5 and yet despite it’s location, there is very little noise due to the superb sound insulation of the rooms. It’s close to the city centre but also not far from the rolling Gloucestershire countryside so you’re in a handy location for whatever takes your fancy that day. It’s 4.4 miles from Bristol Zoo and 5.7 miles from Cabot Circus.

 If you’re arriving by train then Bristol Parkway Station is only 4.8 miles away and Bristol Temple Meads Stations is only 6.8 miles away. Its also very close to Cribbs Causeway Shopping Mall at only 1 mile away so the perfect place to rest after a full day of retail therapy. The motel’s on-site restaurant carries with the American theme with all-day brunch, American-style cuisine and even a heated terrace. This is another ultra-modern hotel in an excellent location but for a very affordable price. It’s just steps away from Bristol Temple Meads Station 450 yards from Cabot Circus Shopping Centre. Bristol Zoo is also only 2.5 miles away. The hotel has its own fitness centre, free WiFi throughout as well as 24/7 snacks and drinks available and a 24-hour front desk. There is also a café which turns into a cocktail bar at night and a games zone. The rooms are just as cool, decorated in a contemporary design with high-tech features such as a 42-inch TV with Chromecast and USB hookup, open plan rooms, comfy beds and pillows and a foldable workspace with tons of USB charging points.

If a more well-known hotel brand in the centre of Bristol is more up your alley, then this is a great choice. The rooms here are comfortable and designed in a contemporary style with all the amenities you would expect of a Hilton hotel such as complimentary WiFi, a flat-screen TV, USB power points and tea and coffee making facilities. There’s also a power shower and toiletries in the en suite and if you fancy getting some work done, an ergonomic work station in the room. Each room also comes with a free hot breakfast and a digital key, making it not only excellent value for money but modern as well. The hotel itself also has excellent facilities with an on-site gym, bar and a 24-hour reception desk. It’s also in a great location, being in the heart of Bristol city centre. For transport links, it’s only a 5 minute walk from Bristol Coach Station, 8.7 miles from Bristol International Airport and just a 20 minute from Bristol Temple Meads Train Station. Cabot Circus and the Showcase Cinema are across the road and less than a 3-minute walk. There’s a bus stop at the end of the road with multiple bus routes into the city and it’s only a 15 minute to Bristol Temple Meads Train Station. Alternatively, if you fancy a walk, it’s only a 20-to-30-minute walk into the city centre. If you’re looking for a cosy and comfortable stay in Bristol that’s a haven from the bustle of the city but in walking distance to the attractions, then this really is a perfect place to stay. If somewhere affordable is the most important factor for your search, then why not consider a hostel? Rock n Bowl isn’t any old hostel either. The independent shops of the well-known St Nicholas Market are only a 5-minute walk away as well as the Galleries Shopping Centre.

 The Harbourside area of Bristol with its many bars and restaurants is only a 7-minute walk away and Cabot Circus is less than a 10-minute walk.
